Dear Miracle Workers at “As Nature Intended” – Four years ago Poppy Popkin annexed me as her full-time human in the lock, stock and barrel sense. Poppy had, 5 years ago when she was a young dog, suffered the usual trauma of being abandoned by the person who rescued her from the deepest vat of hell and left to the care of someone who fed her the wrong food, someone who failed to notice the intense nature of Poppy’s trauma and most important of all, the person failed to notice Poppy’s serous skin condition – chewing, itching and balding spots. Poppy is now eating your custom mix, the chicken-free dinner, and she is thriving although it has only been one month. Cyan is 12 years old and since the age of 5 months, when she was sterilized, she has had a weight issue and been obese for all her life.  We tried the various vet prescribed kibble with absolutely no success.  We had a little success on Arcana and Orijien, when we managed to get to her drop a kilo.  Cyan weighed 7 kilos and should be 4 kilos.  The best we managed on kibble was 6 kilos.  We have always given our babies, cooked chicken, raw mince etc. and they have never had a problem with it. Enter Raw food from Cat of the Day, 3 months ago and WOW, WOW, WOW Cyan weighs 4.6 kilos, is svelte, gained her sassy personality back and demanding her daily walks. Her coat is glossy and her big hanging tummy is gone! She loves her food and eats Jasmine’s Kidney diet and enjoys the variation of Ostrich and Turkey.  She went to the Vet to have her teeth checked and poor baby needs to have some pulled but even her urine analysis is perfect!!!!  Vet is very happy with her.

I struggled for years to get Cash on a diet which he enjoyed eating. He hates kibble and with his sensitive tummy, I couldn’t feed him anything else. When I learned that the kibble I was giving him was actually a very low-grade product (even though I paid hundreds a month for it!), I decided to explore other options.

We tried homecooking according to Dr. Pitcairn’s guidelines, but my yorkies still had runny tummies and very bad breath. And it was still expensive.

Once we tried Give a Dog a Bone’s barf diet, my Yorkshire Terriers loved it! Within two weeks, their breath was much nicer, their coats are shiny, their teeth are strong and white and the best of all, I don’t have to struggle to get him to eat anymore! He wolfs down his food and keeps asking for more.

Can’t say enough good things about this place and their service. I first encountered them whilst treating my dog with late stage liver cancer and the diet change helped immensely.

Since then, all my animals are on raw and are healthier than ever! Coming into the shop is like visiting family, with genuine interest and care for my pets and myself. I am a true and happy advocate for this company. The health of the animals they provide for is obvious.

Puppy’s first Turkey leg, he is absolutely beside himself and having a full body workout! He is teething at the moment so I left it frozen but ran it under a hot tap for a few seconds.

We are very happy with the dog food and the dogs also love it. I am also thankful for the decent, prompt service you offer.

Here’s a pic of one very happy well fed Basenji called Yebo! Because of epileptic seizures we want to feed our dog fresh meat menus only. Our Basenji Yebo! is doing very well on your Give-a-dog-a-bone menus and he loves the carcasses, necks and bones very much.

We are sure it helps keep the seizures away, it makes Yebo’s fur shiny and healthy and we have a very happy dog around the house. Thank you guys!

I would like to inform you that our Schnauzy simply loves your food,mainly the chicken dinners, chunky chicken, dinners, turkey dinners and of course the delicious Venison riblets. I have not even gotten to the ostrich windpipes and biscuits.

Your variety is amazing, the shop is always clean and your staff is amazing… always friendly and smiling… very welcoming. And I have personally enjoyed your organic chicken livers, prawns and the beef fillet.

Dear Gimmeatastybone

Your low-fat mix has been just what I need to get myself back in shape for summer. In fact, I turned quite a few heads the last time I was down at the beach. Not bad for a 91-doggy-year-old lady like myself, heh?

We supplement feed our rescues a raw diet as we believe it is a healthy alternative. We have seen over time what a difference a raw diet makes in the rescues’ condition and health.

It has helped her in many ways, she has lost 9kg since she has been eating the raw food. She suffered from Alopecia and it has completely disappeared since she’s been on it.

Oscar had itchy, flaky skin full of scabs. His face was swollen, he was losing hair, and he was scratching himself raw. He is about six months old now and seems to have inherited sarcoptic mange and also has a very difficult immune system. He is allergic to everything.

Since being on the ‘Give a Dog a Bone’ Oscar’s raw chicken mince, combined with treatments, he has transformed from a frustrated itchy puppy to a playful, relaxed and very shiny dog. His skin condition is great.

His interaction with us is different too. He’s more obedient, affectionate and alert”
